Ghost house (20.9.99)

Ghost house

... the crying widow won’t celebrate New Year,

take heed the heartless and hear ...

There’s a grave being dug

In London on the Docklands

Good, deep, expansive

To cope with the demand.

The Dome will house thousands

Dead and buried soon

But they will not see the Millennium

If they don’t see tomorrow noon.

The hospitals cater poorly

The commercial blood pumping

Money in the ghost house

Names sacrificed to mud.

The graveyard most expansive

But there’s no gold on A and E

The care cannot be intensive

As gravestones are calved with glee.

On your conscience be it

Be it on your conscience

Ever burying millions

Beneath your priceless nonsense.
